GARMIN GMR Fantom 126 Solid-State Open Array Radar

Garmin GMR Fantom 126 Overview
• Product Type: The Garmin GMR Fantom 126 is a solid-state open-array radar that provides high-performance navigation support and target detection.
• Power: Output power is up to 120 watts, equivalent to a traditional 15 kW magnetron radar.
• Detection Range: Effective detection range is 20 feet to 96 nautical miles (~6 meters to 177 kilometers), maintaining high performance even in adverse weather conditions such as fog and rain.
• Antenna and Resolution: The 6-foot (approximately 1.8-meter) open-array antenna with a 1.25° horizontal beamwidth provides high resolution and high antenna gain, enabling identification of distant and faint targets. ________________________________________
Featured Technologies
• MotionScope™ Motion Detection Technology: Utilizes the Doppler effect to detect moving targets and color-code them to assist with collision avoidance, tracking weather trends, and tracking schools of fish.
• Pulse Compression Technology: Combines high resolution with energy efficiency to enhance image quality and target identification.
• Echo Trails: Leaves a "fade trail" of moving targets on the screen to help you track potential threats and ship movements.
• Auto Bird Gain: Detects the location of birds on the water surface, indirectly assisting in finding schools of fish.
• Dynamic Automatic Gain and Sea Filtering: Automatically adjusts radar gain and filtering parameters to adapt to varying sea conditions.
• Dual Range Display and Radar Overlay: Simultaneously displays long-range and short-range images on the display, supporting integration with navigation systems.
• MARPA Automatic Target Tracking: Tracks up to 10 (or 30) selected targets for enhanced navigation safety. • Guard Zone: Sets a safe zone and issues an alert if a target intrudes.
• VRM/EBL Tool: Provides auxiliary tools for distance and heading measurement, facilitating navigational decisions.
• Rotation Rate: Supports 24 RPM (low power) and 48 RPM (fast update, required in single range mode and when MotionScope is disabled at less than 12 nautical miles).
